A chance encounter that launched a career
Owl’s Head Builders is owned and operated by Jaime and Jethro who proudly describe themselves as building science geeks. Jethro’s journey to construction began with a chance encounter with a contractor at only 18 years old. He left the house expecting to land a part-time summer job scooping ice cream; while hitching a ride to the interview he met someone who spoke about his work in the building trade which piqued his curiosity and plotted the course of his own career.
Since incorporating, they’ve approached building with a passion for learning, leveraging the latest strategies and insights from Passive House guidelines to ensure long-term resilience and performance in their projects.

They first decided to join R‑Class following a visit to the 2025 Fine Homebuilding Summit where they met ROCKWOOL Building Development Manager Lewis Smith and learned about the technical insight and builder-focused product support available to members.
